Install Universal Add-On

 

The ISL Light application now allows full control of an Android device using the Universal Add-On. The Universal Add-On uses Accessibility functionality from Android OS to inject keyboard and mouse events and uses MediaProjection API for screen sharing. In order to use the Add-On, users must grant the Accessibility permission for the Universal Add-On.

On Samsung devices, if the user cancels the Knox License and Universal Add-On is installed, the option to enable the Universal Add-On will still be offered.

NOTE: The minimum Android OS requirement to use the Universal Add-On is Android 8 (Oreo).

How to download and enable the Universal Add-On

To activate the Universal Add-On on your device, please follow these steps:

Step 1

Install the ISL Light Add-On: Universal from the Play Store

If your device is from one of the following manufacturers, please use their specific Add-On instead (these are downloaded automatically): 
  • LG Devices 
  • Cyrus Devices 
  • Honeywell Devices 
These manufacturer-specific Add-Ons ensure the best compatibility and performance.

Step 2

During a remote session or when connecting to a device via remote access, a prompt to activate the Universal Add-On will appear. Tap "Enable" to proceed.

NOTE: The steps in this guide may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer of your device. Different brands often have different menu layouts and options, so the exact steps to enable this feature might look a bit different on your screen.

Step 3

You will be taken to your device's Accessibility menu. Tap "ISL Light Universal Add-On". 

Step 4

Tap "Use ISL Light Universal Add-On" to activate it on your device. 

Step 5

When prompted, tap "Allow" to grant the necessary permissions for the Universal Add-On.

Step 6

ISL Light Universal Add-On is now successfully enabled. A confirmation message will appear in the Live Chat section of the ISL Light session.
