It is possible to share a computer from one user's list with one or more other users.
Your ISL Online product username looks like this (replace domain with the appropriate domain and user with the appropriate username): \\domain\user
If you have not done it yet, you should create at least one more user in the ISL Conference Proxy administration, e.g. \\domain\user2.
Check the user management topic for instructions.
Now you need to enable the grouping feature:
- Login to your ISL Conference Proxy administration (http://localhost:7615/conf).
- Go to User management.
- Click the Domains tab and select the desired domain (in this example, it is domain).
- Click the ISL AlwaysOn tab.
- Uncheck the User can share connection option and change the setting on the right to Yes.
Note: This setting was called Use grouping functionality in ISL AlwaysOn module versions lower than 4.2.0.
- Uncheck the User (as guest) can share connection with owner in the same domain option and change the setting on the right to Yes.
- Click Save to save these changes.
Another thing that needs to be enabled is to allow users to see other users in the same domain, allowing them to mark the desired target users when performing the sharing. Steps to enable this security setting:
- Login to your ISL Conference Proxy administration (http://localhost:7615/conf).
- Go to User management.
- Click the Domains tab and select the desired domain (in this example, it is domain).
- Click the Security tab.
- Uncheck the User can view list of users in own domain option and change the setting on the right to Yes.
- Click Save to save these changes.
Now you can login at http://localhost:7615 (replace localhost with the appropriate server address) with the user that wishes to share a computer, e.g. \\domain\user and click Edit next to the desired computer from the list. You will see an option called Share this computer with - mark the checkbox and enter the desired ISL Online product username, e.g. user2 and click Save changes.
From that moment on, the user \\domain\user2 will see that computer in his/her list (with a comment about the owner below the computer description), but available options next to that computer will only be Connect and History (instead of Connect, Edit, Delete, History), since that user is not the owner. When the user \\domain\user2 clicks History, he/she sees only his access history. When the user \\domain\user (i.e. the main user) clicks History, he/she also sees only his access history. If you open ISL AlwaysOn GUI at the remote computer and click History, you can see a list of all accesses.
The main user (in this case \\domain\user) can remove the sharing at any moment by clicking Edit next to that computer and removing the checkbox next to the appropriate user in the Share this computer with section.
