Upgrading to new version

Hosted Service

ISL Conference Proxy releases apply to server license owners only 

Server License

Upgrades are free of charge for ISL Online Server License users with active Extended Support Service. ISL Online Server License users with expired Extended Support Service are welcome to purchase Extended Support Service in order to gain access to the newly released ISL Online Server system. In case you have extended ESS you will need to create new license file and upload it to your ISL Conference Proxy server.

Quick Instructions for users, who have installed ISL Conference Proxy 3.1 or later

1. open web administration of ISL Conference Proxy http://localhost:7615/conf
2. login using admin account
3. click Online update link in left navigation
4. click Apply changes if you have automatic install

Defect fixes

Invalid license crash More

Description

ISL Conference Proxy will not crash if license expires.

Certificate handling improvements More

Description

Long time certificates can now be created (until year 2038 on 32-bit Linux, 2050 on other platforms). Fixes advanced security problems with creating custom keys.

Pinned web session to server More

Description

Web sessions are now pinned to a single server in GRID. Fixes problems with large number of sessions and replication.

GRID SSL crash More

Description

In rare circumstances, service might crash if SSL connection with other server in GRID fails.

New features

Web server session throttling More

Description

Web server session throttling support added. Prevents creation of sessions based on IP, if they reach a limit. Usable for badly implemented web crawlers.

Web server streaming file support More

Description

Transfer encoding "chunked" support added to stream large dynamic files.

Local time with timezone datatype More

Description

New local time with timezone datatype was added to database indexer.

HTTP proxy support for web client (online update) More

Description

HTTP proxy support was added for web client (online update).

DOMAIN_NAME added to HTTP events More

Description

Another POST parameter was added: DOMAIN_NAME - the name of the domain corresponding to DOMAIN_ID.

Internal server error (500) reporting More

Description

Error reports will be sent when internal server error (500) occurs on web pages.

Fallback license support More

Description

License file may contain a fallback license. Useful when primary license expires, so ISL Conference Proxy can continue using the fallback license.

Multi-license support More

Description

Computer with multiple connection will use only one license, support for the feature needs to be implemented in modules.

ISL WebStart command line More

Description

ISL WebStart support for troubleshooting with command line in /start and /download.

ISL WebStart custom trusted sites More

Description

Option to add custom trusted sites for Internet Explorer added in Security tab.

Version parser More

Description

Updater for ISL Conference Proxy now uses version parser, so if release date of software is the same, version will be properly recognized.

Description

Several GRID support fixes, which enable user and client data to correctly replicate.

Location bar in IE6 More

Description

Internet explorer 6 does not display proper title, when location bar is disabled. Location bar is now enabled in web chats by default for IE6.

Internet explorer 6 onclick More

Description

Onclick handling for IE6 was fixed to match ISL Pronto 1.0, in some cases remote desktop link would break chat.

Multiple filters and availability More

Description

Certain older chat templates might display "no supporter available" even though there might be some available. Backward compatibility fix is provided.

Added support for quick browser start plugin.

Javascript error reports More

Description

Javascript error reports can now be enabled to diagnoze javascript problems in templates.

External CSS in templates More

Description

External CSS support was added in templates in form of "<css>http://.../style.css</css>".

User status HTTP events More

Description

User status HTTP events were added to support available time tracking.

ISL Light chat integration More

Description

Chat transcript from ISL Light session is now streamed live as comments.

URL escaped values in chat More

Description

Several new values were added to chat entry box: client, client_email, supporter, supporter_email, chat_id. Single or double URL encoding can be achieved with url: or urlurl: prefix, for example: {{url:client}} or {{urlurl:client}}.

Mobile version fixes More

Description

User-agent detector for Android and Windows Phone 7 added. Improved keyboard handling in web chat for Android.

Loading external scripts More

Description

Support for loading external javascript imports in XML template added.
