Alerts

This article explains how to configure alert settings for incoming connections in ISL Light for Android.

Step 1

Click on the "Menu" button in the upper right corner.

Step 2

Select "Remote access" from the dropdown menu.

Step 3

Navigate to the "Alerts" section:

  • Show Notification of Incoming Connection:  Allows the client to see a countdown notification before a connection is established.
  • Notification Timeout: Amount of time, in seconds, for which the notification is shown to the user before the connection is established.
  • Show Consent to Start Connection: Allows the local user to reject the connection during the notification timeout. A prompt will be shown to the local user allowing them to reject the connection to their device by the supporter.
  • Start Connection on Timeout: The connection will be automatically started or rejected after the timeout, depending on the checkbox selection.

Example:

Notification of Incoming Connection

Here is a demonstration of what you can expect when you check the "Show notification of incoming connection" box and set a Notification Timeout of 10 seconds.

  1. Start connection with client device through ISL Light.
  2. Type in the ISL AlwaysOn connection password for this computer.
  3. The client will see the countdown timeout notification on their screen

Once the countdown is complete the connection to the client is established.

Here is a demonstration of what you would expect to see when you check the box Show Consent to Start Connection.

  1. Start connection with client computer through ISL Light.
  2. Type in the ISL AlwaysOn connection password for this computer.
  3. The client will be given the option to either Allow or Reject the supporter's connection.

If nothing is pressed, the connection will be automatically rejected after the set time has elapsed.

NOTE: By default, the session will be rejected after a timeout. If you want to modify this behavior, you can do so by checking the Start Connection on Timeout setting.
